Gyda Emslie-Tutt

MA CAT (Clinical) (Hons); PGCE; BA (Fine Art); ANZACATA (Provisional member)

I have recently completed a Masters in Creative Arts Therapy (Clinical) and hold a provisional membership of ANZACATA. I enjoy making sculpture and working in Nature with found objects. My teaching background includes working with children with special educational needs and I believe in the power of the Arts to facilitate connection, healing and self-expression, where words sometimes can’t. This involves using creative processes and the imagination in a gentle, welcoming and supportive environment.

During and since completing a Masters in Creative Arts Therapy (2020–2022), I have been engaged in clinical work continuously with children, young people and adults – individually and in small groups in a variety of school and private practice settings. Most recently I volunteered with groups of children experiencing grief, loss, change and in some cases, significant trauma. The modalities offered to the groups included creative arts and Sand Tray, all of which are part of my contract and private practice. My supervision and professional development in these modalities is ongoing and verifiable.
